Excellent Warm Water Fly Fishing!
Look for our ad in the Spring & Summer issues of “Fly Rod & Reel."
We can't guarantee the number of fish, but we can guarantee an incredible experience on one of the most beautiful rivers in North America!
OUR GOAL . . .
To share our passion and love for fly fishing and the outdoors by providing unequivocal attention to our guests as we guide them on an unforgettable trip down the breathtaking waters of the upper St. Croix National Scenic
Riverway.
We use Clackacraft and Hyde Drift boats. These boats have traditionally been used on trout rivers and streams out west. With two casting platforms, they are specifically designed for fly fishing. They have a wide beam and are very stable for standing in the boat. These boats draw about 4 to 5 inches of water. The Clackacraft motto is "fear no rocks." For those who have never been in a drift boat, it brings a whole new experience to fishing.
We are proud to be licensed business partners of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. The St. Croix River is rich in the history of the fur trade and logging industry. In 1968, it was designated one of the original Scenic Rivers by the National Park Service. Out of the eight designated, two are in Wisconsin, the St. Croix and the Namekagon Rivers. We are licensed to guide on both of these. See the St. Croix as it once was. It is a pristine wilderness, home to deer, bear, eagles, hawks, waterfowl, wild turkeys and the occasional mountain lion.
We named ourselves 45 Degrees North because we are on the 45th parallel, halfway between the equator and the North Pole. How perfect is that? Please come and enjoy the experience. The St. Croix is subtle in its excitement and beauty. The rapids bubble as they sing a song all of their own.
The fly shop is open for retail, but we find many a fisherman stopping in for a cup of coffee as they share their latest fly fishing story.
Tom, Kathy and the guides all believe in being stewards of the river. We’ve been given the opportunity to keep the river pure for generations to come. We also believe in the splash of the oar, more than the sound of a motor. Join us today!
